Manual Arts Conference, an annual meeting of leaders in the work of training in industrial arts in the Mississippi Valley, was first held in Nov. 1909; these meetings were succeeded by conferences held under the auspices of Mississippi Valley Industrial Arts Conference, which changed its name in 1973 to Mississippi Valley Industrial Teacher Education Conference.
